Worried about your child's screen time?

Hey 👋 I'm Rafid Hoda

I started building games when I was 9 years old.

Today I teach kids how to build their own games so they can become creators instead of just consumers.

Since 2017, I have taught over 1,000 kids how to code. My online courses have also reached more than 30,000 students worldwide through platforms like Coursera, Udemy, and freeCodeCamp.

At Hoda Camps, kids aged 8 to 12 learn how to design, build, and publish their own Roblox games, even if they have never used a computer before.

My goal is simple. Help kids realize that technology is not just something you consume. It is something you can create.

What parents say

"Felix loves Roblox, and at Roblox Studio Camp he got to learn how to build games himself."

He went from consuming on the iPad to creating his own games on the PC. The kids worked in Roblox Studio, learned simple coding and built features themselves.

He looked forward to every day, made new friends and came home full of ideas.

For us this was absolutely worth every penny.

Kine SæterenKine SæterenParent

"Elizabeth thought this year's Roblox Camp was much better than last year's."

She loved working on the PC in Roblox Studio and is already looking forward to making her own games. She has started writing down ideas for games she wants to build.

What made the biggest impression on us was that you really saw each child. It was more than just a coding course.

"Thank you so much for a great course."

The kids have learned a lot, and you really managed to keep them engaged all week.

It has been so nice to follow along and see how much fun they had. We parents also really appreciate how well you kept us updated.

"Thank you for giving the children a safe and educational introduction to coding and design."

Sofie has had nothing but good experiences to tell us about at home.

She already has plans for further game development, so we will need to get her a PC soon.

Hoda Computer

How do you make it possible for an 8 year old to go from using an iPad to building their own games on the computer? A device they have never used.

Introducing Hoda Computer. A Windows based machine that runs Hoda OS, that makes it easy for kids to use applications like Roblox Studio, without getting distracted by everything else. Our computer is "offline first" meaning we don't allow kids to access most websites or applications.

This builds their focus and trains them to think of Hoda Computer as creation time, while the iPad is for consumption time.

You can either buy our computer, rent it during a camp or have us install Hoda OS on a laptop you already own. This way kids can continue working on their projects after the camp has ended.

Meet the Team

Rafid Hoda with students at a coding workshop

Rafid Hoda

Rafid started building on the computer at age 9. After some years he started making video tutorials so others could learn. This was before YouTube.

Rafid's mission is to inspire as many kids to go from consumers to creators. The big tech companies have designed a world where they keep us scrolling through meaningless content. Hoda Camps is about learning the tools to start building on our own.

Jay Vardhan

Jay has 6 years experience in Roblox Studio. He has built countless games on the platform and has even earned Robux through his games. He knows pretty much anything there is to know about Roblox Studio.

Jay's responsibility is to be the main teacher for the kids that want to go beyond the basics and learn more advanced topics.

Monika Kondrotaite

Monika Kondrotaite

Monika is the one who makes sure our camps run smoothly. She sends emails and WhatsApp messages to all parents before, during and after the camp. She takes pictures and videos during the camp so parents can enjoy seeing their kids enjoying themselves. Monika also makes sure that all the kids get a break from the computers to get some exercise in a fun way and some fresh air.

Divv Saxena

Divv is our video editor. When Rafid and Jay create video courses, Divv is the one who takes the raw files and turns them into courses ready to be uploaded to platforms such as YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, Udemy and Utdannet.no. He also takes videos and photos from the camps and creates entertaining and engaging videos to be shared with parents and used as promo material on social platforms.
